What you create
- Independent processing of inquiries and creation of orders, taking into account optimal purchase quantities, quality requirements, specifications, and cost efficiency
- Negotiation and monitoring of delivery dates and costs, including tracking of orders, goods receipts, and final payments
- Monitoring of supplier performance using a supplier scorecard program and initiation of appropriate measures based on the results
- Maintaining and ensuring the data quality of relevant planning master data in the ERP system
- Identifying and recommending cost-efficient purchasing strategies for goods, services, and equipment
- Inventory management to minimize inventory investments in coordination with material planning (production & R&D) and company KPIs
- Optimizing processes and systems to reduce inventory and eliminate non-value-adding activities (including through root cause analysis and lean methods)
- Controlling incoming freight and processing costs
- Implementing operational strategies to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Performing root cause analysis and ensuring sustainable results
What you bring along
- Completed university degree or training as an industrial clerk with several years of relevant professional experience
- At least 3 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in a technical or (bio)pharmaceutical environment
- Practical experience in awarding contracts and tendering for goods or services
- Competence in preparing bids and evaluating contract proposals, including cost analyses and bid comparisons
- In-depth knowledge of commercial law relating to contract awarding (e.g., copyright law, trademark law, contract law, international trade, tax and customs law, labor law)
- Efficient written and oral communication skills in German and English
- Experience in defining service, quality, and evaluation requirements for suppliers, as well as in handling data and KPIs to identify improvements
- Proven experience in cross-functional collaboration with technical and non-technical teams
- High problem-solving skills, resilience, and flexibility in a dynamic work environment
- Very good organizational skills and attention to detail in the parallel management of multiple materials, orders, and schedules
- Strong team and communication skills for efficient coordination with internal interfaces such as planning, production, and logistics
